Herbs! 

If you have found yourself wanting to learn more about herbs, this is the event for you! 

Join Herbalist Tamara Glascock to discuss how to grow, harvest, preserve, and use common herbs native to the Ozarks. We will start the herb walk at 10 am. Of course, it is May in Missouri and the weather can be unpredictable. This event will take place rain or shine (as long as lightining isn't involved), but it might be a little muddy. Please wear appropriate footwear/clothing, and maybe bring along an umbrella, just in case. The herb walk will require a bit of walking. We will cover about 2 acres of ground that, while maintained, still requires proper shoes and leg protection. We suggest light hiking-friendly shoes or rain boots, as there are thorns and sharp plants popping up everywhere this time of year. 

The herb walk will be followed by a tea and luncheon where we will be discussing how to use common native plants in cooking and cleansing the body.  We will be making a nutrition-packed herbal broth, herbal teas, Fire Tonic, and discussing other ways to incorporate the healing power of plants into your everyday life.   

We will be serving herbal teas (hot and cold), and a light lunch.

Lunch will be followed by a discussion on why we all need to do an occasional cleansing of the body and the safest, most effective way to do it.  We will discuss fasting, herbal cleanse, juice cleanse and more. 

The cost of the event covers entrance to the event, written material, and food and beverages. 

This event is not suitable for most children.  There are many curiosities on the farm for little ones, as well as many places to get lost if they should decide to wander. For their safety and ours, we ask that no children under the age of 10 attend.
