Goldenrod flower leaf (Solidago)

This lovely herb is grown here on our farm in the Missouri Ozarks. In late summer and early fall our fields are covered with it's beautiful flowers that draw a number of beneficial insects. It is free of any chemicals or other toxic pollutants. We harvest only the perfect leaves and flowers at the peak of their freshness. We carefully dry them so they retain their color and as much of their healing properties as possible.

Goldenrod has often been blamed for seasonal allergies that are actually caused by ragweed, which blooms at the same time. Goldenrod has a sticky pollen that remains on the plant rather than being airborn, and is an excellent source of late-season food for many pollinating insects.

Goldenrod has traditionally been used to help with a variety of issues, including:

  • Clears the sinuses and upper respiratory tract of mucus and phlegm
  • strengthens blood vessels
  • promotes circulation
  • prevents blood clots
  • soothes sore throat
  • laryngitis
  • reduces fever by opening the pores, allowing heat to be released from the body through the skin
  • soothes and tones the urinary tract
  • increases urine production, helping to flush the urinary tract, and clear up and prevent urinary tract infections and kidney stones
  • tightens and tones the bladder and urinary tract
  • leaves are used as a poultice to relieve pain from rheumatism and neuralgia
  • helps heal wounds and burns
  • soothes and eliminates candida overgrowth and infections
  • soothes, eliminates and prevents seasonal allergies
